[ When the video feed clicks on, Namsoon looks rather ruffled up: his clothes are all askew, and there are signs of a bruise beginning to purple on his right cheek and a cut along one of his arms. There's a Mienfoo sitting on his lap, looking very excited!! to be out and about; it can barely seem to sit still. ]

I have a question. The Pokémon we’re partnered with... they aren’t supposed to attack you, right? [ there’s a pause, and then a sigh -- ] I don’t think she meant to, but she was very -- enthusiastic, when I let her out of the ball... They’re pretty strong, aren’t they? Even though they’re so small.

[ For a few moments, he seems to zone out, staring blankly and not saying anything. Rather abruptly, though, he snaps out of it after half a minute or so: ] I was wondering, though... do they really enjoy fighting? And do we have to battle them? It just seems kind of...

[ He trails off, changing subjects abruptly: ] I think I need a band-aid.

[ he doesn't blink an eye, but he really was taken aback by that Sableye... ]

That's pretty understandable. It's definitely very... different-looking, than anything else I've seen before.

[ his Mienfoo perks up upon seeing the other Pokémon -- she hasn't seen a lot of different kinds yet! She speaksveryquickly and sometimes makes up pronunciation when the words won't run together smoothly, but she's generally understandable: "Hello!! What kind of Pokémon are you? I've never seen a Pokémon that looks like you!!" ]

... So if mine does, it's probably better to just let her? [ he still feels kinda unsure about this whole thing... ]

Yeah... [She stares at the sableye a moment, letting it crawl onto her lap to get a better look at the Mienfoo.

'I am a Sableye. I am a dark type and my trainer calls me Yami. What are you? Do you have a name?' He tilts his head curiously.]

Your pokemon kind of looks like a weasel. [Pause.] No offense.

But yeah, that's how it works. If they don't want to fight, they'll let you know. They can get moody and restless if you don't let them fight if they want to.

[ she is genuinely so excited to talk to a new kind of Pokémon, to the point where it's either cute or kinda annoying. "I see!! I see!! My name is Yeon, it's nice to meet you -- !! I've never met a dark-type before..." ]

[ he smiles a little at that. ] None taken. She really does kinda look like one, except... maybe a little cuter?

[ ... ] I see. I didn't really want to, but I guess if she'd be happier that way, it's different...

[That's okay, Yami doesn't mind, he seems pretty happy to talk to someone else too! 'That's a pretty name! Yeeeooon. Did you really attack your trainer?'

Mio smiles a bit too] She's pretty cute. There are a lot of pokemon that look like animals from home. Well- Earth. Most Earths. [She looks a bit flustered] It gets confusing.

[ she pouts a little at that. "I didn't mean to, honest!! I was just excited... because I haven't been outside in a longlonglong time!! And now we get to go on an adventure together -- it's exciting!!" ]

That's what I've heard... about the different worlds, I mean. [ ... ] Where are you from?

[Yami laughs and Mio gives him an amused glance. 'Trainers are pretty fragile, so be careful! You should make him take you training for a bit, that'll take care of the energy!']

Japan. I guess my Earth is like most peoples' Earth, but I haven't been to anyone else's so. [A shrug.] What about you?

[ she nods, all wide-eyed. "I see!! I'll be more careful!! Because I don't want to hurt my Trainer..." ]

From Korea... it sounds like we're probably from the same world, I guess? From what I can remember, Pokémon was only a video game -- I suppose it's probably the same for you?

[Yami looks pleased. "Great! Your trainer will be happy to have you along! Are you going to fight the Gym Leaders?"]

Sounds like it; Korea exists in my world, at least. [Here she hesitates and shakes her head, though] No. At least, not yet. It's only 1988 where I'm from. I guess it's later in your world?

[ Yeon somehow manages to look even more excited!! at the mention of Gym Leaders. "I really want to!! Hmm, I wonder if he will want to, though...?" ]

The New Year passed recently before I came here... [ there's a moment of hesitation because wow, she would be... 25 (he thinks?) older -- ] It's 2013, when I came from.

[Yami thinks about this a moment. 'Maybe win a lot of fights and show him how strong you are?']

Oh. [She looks a little surprised. 2013... She can't even imagine it] I guess that makes me your elder, technically--You'll have to show me proper respect.

[The corner of her mouth twitches, a slight smile and she looks away to giggle a bit.]

[ Yeon nods very eagerly at this suggestion. "Oh!! That's a really good idea. I'll have to try my best, then!" ]

[ Namsoon cracks a smile at that, too: ] Should I call you sunbae-nim then? Or is noona alright?

[ which are both roughly the equivalents of senpai, at varying degrees of formality! ]

[Yami grins wide. 'You can do it! I'll be cheering you on!']

Which one is more respectful? Call me that one. [A small laugh.]

Oh, I never introduced myself, right? I'm Mio Amakura. I've been here a couple months.

Sunbae-nim is. But you seem more like a noona to me. [ it's a compliment, sort of...!! ]

My name's Namsoon. It's nice to meet you, Mio.
