[ When the video feed clicks on, Namsoon looks rather ruffled up: his clothes are all askew, and there are signs of a bruise beginning to purple on his right cheek and a cut along one of his arms. There's a Mienfoo sitting on his lap, looking very excited!! to be out and about; it can barely seem to sit still. ]

I have a question. The Pokémon we’re partnered with... they aren’t supposed to attack you, right? [ there’s a pause, and then a sigh -- ] I don’t think she meant to, but she was very -- enthusiastic, when I let her out of the ball... They’re pretty strong, aren’t they? Even though they’re so small. 

[ For a few moments, he seems to zone out, staring blankly and not saying anything. Rather abruptly, though, he snaps out of it after half a minute or so: ] I was wondering, though... do they really enjoy fighting? And do we have to battle them? It just seems kind of...

[ He trails off, changing subjects abruptly: ] I think I need a band-aid.

[ he just makes a face because knowing him that means he will get slammed with everything and anything. ]

This place seems kind of... messed-up. [ it's so obnoxiously cheerful except for all the animal violence ]

Compared to things I've heard from other people, I'd say this place is pretty tame as it is.

[because really, fighting monsters in the moon sounds outlandish as it is.]

You think so? I guess it's better than people beating each other up, but there's still something kinda... [ he makes a vague hand motion, because he doesn't know how to describe it -- like this feeling everything is hunky-dory but it's all just a mask for something deep and sinister. ] ... kinda off...?

[impulsives]

...I dunno, this seemed normal enough for me.

[more like he's halfway not-caring, but well, the sentence did got him curious at least.]

Sides, they don't really beat each other to death, it's just an exercise for them.

[...Well, they hunt, but that's pretty normal even in real life.]

[mianhe]

I guess... if you put it that way, it's not as bad... Maybe I'm just being unnecessarily reluctant.

You don't have to get them to fight all the time, there's other things to do here anyways.

[mianhe]

... Ah, really? What kind of stuff? I've heard of breeding already, but not much else.

[impulsives]

Well, you can probably hold performances with them if you're into that kind of thing.

[He's seen some Pokémon learning to dance like their trainers after all.]

... Maybe... if they're more talented at it than I am. [ well, he's never tried in the first place, but... ]

[impulsives]

You sure sound like you need to man up more.

[just saying.]

[ his reply is the grand shrug of apathy. ]
